Rensselaer Fire Department battles heater fire in multi-unit building. Great work and tactics saved many homes.
Crews have returned after responding to an extra-alarm fire in the primary service area of the Defreestville Fire Department, located in the town of North Greenbush. Ladder Co. 1 arrived as the second-due ladder and assumed a defensive position in Division B. Firefighters assisted with primary searches, suppression efforts, and overall scene stabilization.
Beyond fireground operations, personnel from Fire Investigations and Drone Support were deployed to the scene. The drone team conducted two sorties to aid the fire investigation team and incident commander.
In total, crews operated for over three hours, providing critical support to our mutual aid partners.
