ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Albuquerque Fire Rescue is reporting record numbers of EMTs and paramedics trained through its programs, according to KRQE.

Since 2023, the department has graduated 40 paramedics, with another 25 expected to complete training this year. AFR also started an advanced EMT training program for cadets and has graduated 26 members to date. This year also produced a record 40 members trained as EMT basics.

“We are training a record number of EMT’s and paramedics, which is helping us with our mission to keep communities safe,” Fire Chief Emily Jaramillo said. She added that the achievement would not be possible without a committed training staff and collaboration with multiple EMS educational partners.
