The National Association of Convenience Stores partnered with the National Emergency Number Association to honor first responders including police officers, firefighters, emergency medical technicians, paramedics, emergency room physicians, nurses, 911 professionals, and American Red Cross volunteers.
Participating convenience store retailers offered free coffee, fountain drinks, frozen beverages, or snacks to first responders displaying uniforms or official work badges. The event celebrates personnel who work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year in service to their communities.
A comprehensive list of participating store partners and their specific offers was compiled at www.conveniencecares.org. The organization provided an interactive map enabling first responders to identify nearby participating locations and confirm available offers.
The NACS Foundation encouraged social media participation using hashtags #247day, #ThankYou911, and #ConvenienceCares to show appreciation for first responders answering calls every day and every hour throughout the year.
